Some people leave a mark quietly—through years of care, kindness, and showing up when it matters most.
For Loretta Ward, being part of the Ms. Mudcat Ambassador Experience is rooted in connection—friendship, camaraderie, and a deep sense of community. It’s about women coming together to support, encourage, and empower one another, while celebrating the simple but powerful act of showing up.
And showing up is something Loretta has done her entire life.
For over 40 years as a nurse, she dedicated herself to caring for others in moments that mattered most. It’s a career built on compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to people. While there are countless moments that define that kind of life’s work, one stands out close to her heart—being able to save a dear friend. It’s a reflection not only of her skill, but of the kind of person she is: someone who is there when it counts, without hesitation.
Her presence in the community extends far beyond her profession. Whether she’s volunteering, supporting local businesses, or capturing moments through her lens as a talented photographer, Loretta brings a quiet but meaningful energy to everything she does. She has a way of making people feel seen—whether it’s through a photograph, a conversation, or simply her presence.
Those who know her describe her as fun-loving, social, kind-hearted, and incredibly reliable. She’s the kind of person whose presence lifts a room—someone who brings lightness, warmth, and a sense of ease wherever she goes. It’s not loud or attention-seeking—it’s genuine.
Her values are simple, but deeply lived: treat others the way you would want to be treated. Lead with respect. Choose kindness. And always remember that everyone has a story, whether you know it or not.
That perspective carries into the message she shares with other women and young girls—be comfortable in your own skin, love yourself fully, and treat yourself with the same kindness you offer others. When you do, that same respect has a way of finding its way back to you.
There’s also a depth to Loretta’s story that many may not know. She was adopted at just one week old and, in a full-circle moment that feels almost meant to be, she retired from the very same building where her parents first brought her home. This year also marks 20 years alongside her husband, Ryan—two decades of shared life and experiences that have been part of her journey. Today, she is a proud grandmother of eight, continuing to build a legacy grounded in family, connection, and care.
And if she could wish one thing for Dunnville, it would be continued opportunities for people to stay active, connected, and healthy—spaces where community thrives year-round, where people can gather, move, and support one another through all seasons of life.
Loretta Ward represents a different kind of strength—one built over time, through care, consistency, and heart.
Because sometimes, the most powerful impact comes from a life spent quietly making a difference—one person, one moment, one connection at a time.
Ms. Mudcat Ambassador Experience
The Ms. Mudcat Ambassador Experience is a modern reimagining of a cherished Dunnville tradition—one that celebrates the strength, spirit, and stories of women in our community. It is no longer about a title or a moment on stage, but about the impact these women have in their everyday lives.
This experience brings together women of all ages and backgrounds who are showing up, giving back, and helping shape the future of Dunnville. It recognizes leadership in its many forms—through community involvement, personal growth, mentorship, and the quiet ways women support and uplift one another.
At its heart, Ms. Mudcat is about connection over competition. It’s about adjusting each other’s crowns, sharing experiences, and creating a space where women are celebrated not just for how they present themselves, but for who they are and how they contribute.
As we bring this tradition back with a modern lens, the Ms. Mudcat Ambassador Experience stands as a reflection of today’s woman—strong, compassionate, resilient, and deeply rooted in community.
